Set 1
The Cardinals burst out of the gates to start Set 1, winning 25-12. UofL blew out to a 10-5 lead and forced a Norse timeout. The break did little to sway the Cardinal momentum as UofL powered to a 16-7 lead and NKU had to burn its final timeout to try to cool off UofL hitting. Louisville increased the lead to 22-11 and then scored set point on a block by Amaya Tillman and Raquel Lazaro on the right side for the win. Louisville hit a torrid .519 as a team and recorded seven blocks, four by Cara Cresse.  Anna DeBeer led the offensive efforts with four kills and Claire Chaussee added a pair of aces.
Â
Set 2
UofL took an 8-4 lead to start the second set before NKU called timeout. Louisville powered forward to take a 17-8 lead and then a 21-10 lead before winning 25-11 to take a 2-0 set lead into the break. The Cardinals established the fact that they were not one of the best blocking teams in the nation last year as they upped their blocks assists to 18 with Aiko Jones and Amaya Tillman both recording five apiece. UofL hit .400 in the second set with DeBeer adding four more kills and two aces.
Â
Set 3
The final set ran the same script as the prior two as the Cards ran out to an 11-5 lead before NKU called timeout. The Norse generated more offense than in the first two sets but still had to burn their second timeout when Louisville hit 16-9 on the scoreboard. UofL finished off the match with a 25-16 win.
