Bio
2022: Named the ACC Setter of the Year, Raquel was a key part of the 2022 National Championship Team, playing in 115 sets. She led the team in assists with 1152 and added 58 kills, 23 aces, 250 digs, and 96 blocks to the stat sheet. Raquel recorded nine matches with 40 assists or more: 44 vs. San Diego, 46 vs. Kentucky, 42 vs. Georgia Tech, 45 vs. Virginia Tech, 52 vs. Wake Forest, 42 vs. Pitt, 57 vs. Georgia Tech, 45 vs. Oregon, 49 vs. Pitt. Raquel was also an offensive threat and had a season-high five kills against Duke. Her season-high six blocks came against Virginia, while her season-high 14 digs came in the National Championship game against Texas. Raquel was named a HM AVCA All-American honoree and an AVCA East Region First-Team member.

2021: Raquel Lázaro set for the University of Southern California her senior year. Lázaro competed for Spain’s national team at the 2021 Women’s European Volleyball League where they won bronze.
2020 · PLAYED SPRING 2021
Lázaro started and played in 13 matches and appeared in 54 sets. After being named to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference Team, she led the team with 522 assists and was ranked third in the Pac-12 with 9.67 assists per set. Lázaro produced seven double-doubles with seven double-digit digs matches including a season-high 17 digs on February 19 at California. She finished with 26 blocks, 17 kills, and 15 service aces.
2019
Lázaro was voted to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference Team. She earned Pac-12 All-Conference Honorable Mention and AVCA All-Pacific South Honorable Mention. After starting all 32 matches, she led the team in assists and was ranked third in the Pac-12 with 10.77 assists per set. Lázaro led the conference with 20 double-doubles, with a season-high 20 digs at Arizona State. After being the only Trojan to play in all 132 sets, she finished the season with 1,424 assists, 111 blocks, 64 kills, 353 digs, and 22 aces. Lázaro is the only Trojan to recorded a triple-double in the rally scoring era with 36 assists, 16 digs, and 11 blocks.

Lázaro had a stellar freshman year as she was voted the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, Pac-12 All-Freshman team, Pac-12 All-Conference team Honorable Mention, AVCA All-America honorable mention, Volleyball Magazine All-Freshman First Team, Volleyball Magazine All-America honorable mention, and AVCA All-Pacific South Region Team. This four-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week winner was voted to each non-conference all-tournament team. After starting all 33 matches, she tied for the team-high with 12 double-doubles and led the team with 1,402 assists. She played in 125 sets totaling 305 digs, 88 blocks, and 28 aces. Lázaro finished with season with a career high of 59 assists and 22 digs.
Prep
Lázaro, a 6’0” setter from Málaga, Spain, attended Instituto Educación Secundaria (IES) Castilla in Soria, Spain. She has competed as a seven-year member on the Spanish National Team where she has appeared in over 25 U16 and I18 international matches. She was chosen as the Best Setter at the 2017 Venza U18 Tournament and the MVP of the 2015 Canary Island Championship. Lázaro has won two Spanish National Championship gold medals in back-to-back years (2015 and 2016) and four silver medals. She competed with Spain’s Senior National Team in 2017 where she played in eight matches at the European League Championships.
