Rushing tallied two more All-America honors while Beard collected a second Freshman All-America nod.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville baseball players Dalton Rushing and Logan Beard added more postseason honors to their names as national services continue to release their postseason awards.
After previously being named to the Collegiate Baseball All-America team, Rushing added All-America honors from Perfect Game and the American Baseball Coaches Association. The junior was named the Third Team catcher by both organizations.
Beard garnered Freshman All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association after previously earning the nod from Collegiate Baseball.
A fixture in the middle of Louisville's lineup, Rushing hit .310 with a team high 23 home runs and drove in 62 this spring. Rushing was the first UofL player to hit 20 home runs since 2017 and finished the year with the fourth-most homers in a season by a Louisville player. Rushing ranked top 30 nationally in home runs, walks and hit by pitch, and top 50 in slugging percentage and runs scored.
Beard started 62 of 64 games this season at second base for the Cardinals after sitting out the 2021 season. He closed out his first season on the diamond with a .310 average, 12 doubles, a triple and four home runs. He also scored 40 runs and drove in 54. His 21 multi-hit games ranked fourth on the team.
The Cardinals posted a 42-21-1 overall record this spring with the program's fifth ACC Atlantic Division title in seven full seasons and ninth Super Regional appearance.
