
Cardinals Add Alyssa Zalac to Roster

The keeper is from Montreal, Quebec
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Alyssa Zalac, a goalkeeper from Montreal, Canada will continue her career as a Cardinal at the University of Louisville.
Zalac spent a season at Ole Miss before transferring to UofL. She spent one season at Vanier College in Montreal,l however the Cheetahs did not compete during the 2020 season due to COVID-19. She played her club ball for Lakeshore Soccer Club in Kirkland, Quebec for Coach Nicholas Razzaghi. There she was awarded the 2018 LSEQ Golden Glove Award, recognizing the best goalkeeper in Quebec. She helped lead Lakeshore SC to provincial championships and national silver medals in both 2018 and 2019.
"We are thrilled to add a goalkeeper of Alyssa's caliber to our goalkeeping corps," said UofL head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes. "She is a very good shot stopper and is excellent with her feet. We are excited to have her at Louisville."
She played in the Canadian National Championship U 15 match where she was a silver medalist in 2018 and played in the Coupe du Quebec Champions that same year. She was on the Quebec provincial team U14 (2017), U15 (2018) as well as the Regional Select team. (Lac Saint Louis) at Quebec Games (2016) where she helped her team win a bronze medal. She played in the Sport-Etudes Excellence League Champions (2019 and was a League Champion in 2018 for U15aaa. She was in net for the Canadian National Championship U 17 team that won the silver medal in 2019.
