LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team fell 9-5 to North Carolina in game two of the teams' ACC series Saturday afternoon at Ulmer Stadium. The Cardinals (20-16, 4-7 ACC) and the Tar Heels (20-19, 5-9) will meet in the rubber game Sunday at 12 p.m.

Freshman Korbe Otis went 3-for-4 and scored a run while graduate senior Carmyn Greenwood registered a double and a triple and drove in a pair of runs to lead Louisville at the plate.

North Carolina jumped on the scoreboard with an unearned run in the first and added two more in the second to move ahead 3-0.

Louisville answered in the home half of the second when freshman Maddi Grant reached on a fielder's choice and freshman Ally Alexander singled to set the table for Greenwood's two-run double to pull the Cards within a run.

The Tar Heels pulled back ahead with a pair of runs to take a 5-2 lead in the fourth.

Freshman Sam Booe took over in the circle in the fourth and retired the next seven batters until the Tar Heels capitalized on three hits and two walks to extend the lead to 9-2.

The Cards got three runs back in the bottom of the seventh, courtesy of freshman Dylann Cravens' two-run double and sophomore Vanessa Miller's RBI single, but ultimately fell 9-5.

Junior Taja Felder (0-1) took the loss after surrendering five runs, three earned, on five hits and striking out one. Booe gave up four runs, three earned after logging 3.2 innings of relief delivering a career-high five strikeouts.

Carlie Myrtle (2-2) tossed a complete game to get the win for North Carolina, allowing five earned runs on 11 hits and striking out three.

NOTES:

Dylann Cravens is currently on a seven-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in the last 15 games.
Carmyn Greenwood extended her hitting streak to seven games. She leads the team with 17 multi-hit games this season.
