CARDINAL NOTES
• The Cardinals bring a 21-16 overall record into the game after taking two of three games in a home ACC series against North Carolina.Â
• Louisville is led offensively by graduate senior Carmyn Greenwood who is hitting at a .422 clip with a team and ACC-best 54 hits. She also leads the team with 42 runs and 43 RBIs and stands second with 11 home runs. She is tied for second in the nation and leads the ACC with 113 total bases and six triples.
• Greenwood is currently on an eight-game hitting streak.
• Redshirt senior RHP Taylor Roby has shouldered the bulk of the pitching duties and holds a 3.06 ERA with 92 strikeouts in 114.1 innings of work. She also leads the team with 13 home runs and stands second with 38 RBIs. Last weekend, she notched a pair of complete game wins to help the Cards take the series against North Carolina.
• Freshman Dylann Cravens has reached safely in the last 16 games and is on an eight-game hitting streak.
• Kendall Smith was named one of 30 Senior CLASS Award Candidates.
• The Cardinals starting lineup frequently features four freshmen.
• Louisville was picked to finish sixth in the ACC in a preseason vote by the league's head coaches.

THE APRILE ERA
• Holly Aprile is in her fourth season as UofL's head coach. With the 2020 campaign suspended prior to its midway point due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Aprile has compiled an 86-78-1 record and guided the Cardinals to an NCAA regional final appearance in 2019.
• Prior to her arrival at Louisville, Aprile, the 2018 ACC Coach of the Year spent 10 seasons (2009-18) as Pittsburgh's head coach and five years (2004-08) as an assistant. In 2018, she earned ACC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Panthers to the 2018 ACC Coastal Division title and a runner-up finish in the ACC tournament.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT - KENTUCKY
Last Meeting: April 21, 2021 - Kentucky won 6-5 at John Cropp Stadium.
• Lauren Johnson's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning sent host No 14/14 Kentucky softball team to a 6-5 win over UofL.
• Carmyn Greenwood went 4-for-5 and Makayla Hurst drove in a pair of runs to lead the Cardinals as they outhit the Wildcats 10-9 in a back-and-forth game that featured three ties.
• Jennifer Leonhardt took the loss, allowing one earned run on three hits and striking out three in 2.1 innings of relief. Taylor Roby allowed five runs, three earned, on six hits and fanned five in 6.1 innings.
• Autumn Humes picked up the win, giving up two earned runs on five hits and striking out five in 6.0 innings of relief. Kowalik led the Wildcats with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate.
Scouting the Wildcats: No. 8/12 Kentucky enters the midweek matchup with a 27-9 overall record after taking an SEC doubleheader against Ole Miss on Sunday by scores of 6-2 and 8-2 The Wildcats dropped the opening game of the series 7-6 on Friday.
• The Wildcats boast a hefty .338 team batting average with seven players hitting .300 or above on the season. Erin Coffell leads the way with a .415 batting average along with 11 home runs and 41 RBIs.
• Maranda Stoddard (5-3) carries a 3.30 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 59.1 innings of work.
Cardinal Connections
• UofL head coach Holly Aprile and UK head coach Rachel Lawson were teammates at UMass and helped lead the Minutewomen to a Women's College World Series appearance in 1992.
• UofL assistant coach Griffin Joiner is a UK alum and played for Lawson from 2012-15. She also served as a grad manager for her alma mater from 2016-17.
