
Cardinals Suffer Setback Against No. 1 Boston College

Louisville, Ky. – Hannah Morris tallied a career-high five goals, but University of Louisville women's lacrosse came up short 19-10 against No. 1 Boston College on Saturday at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.

With the loss, the Cardinals move to 4-3 on the season, 1-1 in the ACC, while the Eagles improve to 6-0 on the year, 2-0 in conference play.

"We came out of the gates and showed we can play with them," said head coach Scott Teeter. "Today was a tough day, but it was a great lacrosse game, a great day for lacrosse. The fan base was outstanding today."

Boston College struck first, but back-to-back goals from Hannah Morris gave the Cards an early 2-1 lead with 8:58 left in the first quarter.

The Eagles scored four straight goals before Nicole Perroni answered with her only goal of the game to cut the deficit to two at 5-3. Caroline Blalock and Morris notched the only Louisville goals in the second quarter as the Cardinals went into the locker room down 14-5.

UofL kept the game even in the second half, but eventually fell 19-10.Â

Hannah Morris led the offense with five goals on seven shots. Blalock, Perroni, Kokoro Nakazawa, Bella Karstien and Haley Reeck scored one goal each.

Goalkeeper J Pleck finished the game with eight saves.Â
