Cards Tied for Third at the Moon Golf Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kendall Griffin fired a first round 68 to lead the University of Louisville women's golf team into a tie for third place at the 2022 Moon Golf Invitational at the Suntree Classic Course in Melbourne, Fla., on Sunday.
Collectively, the Cardinals finished at 3-over-par for the day to stand in a tie with Florida. Florida State paced the difficult field by shooting a 2-under-par 286 and Virginia is next in line after a 1-under-par 287. The Cards enter the second round just five shots off the overall lead.
Griffin posted one of her best rounds since transferring from LSU this season. The senior is in second place after carding a 4-under-par to close just two shots off the lead. LSU's Ingrid Linblad shot a 6-under-par 66 to lead the field. Griffin birdied the first two holes of the day and went on to record five birdies during her round.
Hana Ryskova was the second UofL player to make it into the top 10 after she shot a 1-under-par 71 to sit in a tie for eighth. She birdied four holes, including No. 18.
Playing as an individual, Gabbi Bentancourt is tied for 11th after shooting an even-par 72. Carmen Griffith is tied for 32nd after shooting a 2-over 74, while Agustina Gomez-Cisterna is tied for 39th after shooting 75. Mairead Mairtin is tied for 65th after her round of 78 and Lauren Thibodeau is tied for 79th after carding 81. Molly Lyne is tied for 82nd after shooting 83 and Carly Haines is in 84th after her round of 90.
The Cardinals will tee on Monday morning at 8 a.m.
