Â
#14/14 Duke 6 – Louisville 3
Freshman Ally Alexander went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI to lead the Cardinals at the plate in a 6-3 loss to No. 14. Duke.
Â
The teams played through two scoreless innings before the Blue Devils (7-2) broke through with a pair of runs in the third courtesy of Kamryn Jackson's two-run double. A fourth inning home run by Ana Gold and an RBI single by Caroline Jacobsen gave Duke a 4-0 lead.
Â
The Cardinals answered in the home half of the fourth when Taylor Roby's RBI single plated Carmyn Greenwood who had reached on an error.
Â
The fifth inning brought two more Louisville runs. Senior Rebecca Chung got the offense started when she drove a pinch hit double into left field and freshman Dylann Cravens entered to run for her. Freshman Ally Alexander followed with a double of her own to make the score 4-2. Alexander then moved to third on a wild pitch and crossed the plate on an error to pull the Cardinals within a run.
Â
Louisville had another scoring opportunity in the sixth when Roby walked and Hannah File's single moved her into scoring position, but Duke reliever Peyton St. James delivered a strikeout to end the inning.

Florida (8-0) jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first when Kendra Falby tripled and scored on Hannah Adams' sacrifice fly.
Â
The Gators had a chance to push more runs across in the third, using three singles to load the bases with one out, but Chardonnay Harris got the next two batters to fly out to Korbe Otis in right field to escape the jam.
