The Cardinals recorded their 21st consecutive semester with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program continued its run of excellence in the classroom during the fall semester of 2021.
The Cardinals closed out the fall with a 3.418 cumulative team grade point average, a new fall semester record for the program. It also marks the 21st consecutive semester with a team GPA of 3.0 or better.
Thirty-eight student-athletes turned in a 3.25 GPA or better during the fall with Tyeler Hawkins, Ryan Hawks and Michael Prosecky recording 4.0 semesters.
In the program's internal academic competition, Team Vrable took home the title with a 3.511 GPA. Team Vrable consisted of Austin Bode, Braden Calise, Jaxson Davis, Isaac Humphrey, Eddie King Jr., Jack Payton, Riley Phillips, Cameron Robinson, Evan Webster and Drake Westcott.
The Louisville baseball program also had four student-athletes receive their degrees following the fall semester. Alex Binelas (2019-21), J.R. Langworthy, Gavin Sullivan (2018-21) and Kerry Wright all completed their undergraduate degrees.
The span of 21 straight semesters with a team GPA of 3.0 or better coincides with unparalleled success on the field for Louisville, which has four College World Series appearances, six NCAA Super Regional berths, eight NCAA Regional bids and seven conference championships during that time.
