Cards Place Two in Preseason National Rankings

University of Louisville tennis players Andrea Di Palma and Rhea Verma made the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Women's Preseason Rankings which were released on Tuesday.

Andrea Di Palma is ranked No. 115 in singles. She paired with Rhea Verma in doubles, and the pair are ranked No. 16 nationally in the preseason poll.

Di Palma, a sophomore from Buenos Aires, Argentina, was Named to the 2021 All-ACC Third Team and finished the COVID-shortened season ranked in both singles and doubles, ranking as high as No.93 in singles and No.62 in doubles. Recorded a 10-10 singles record, highlighted by a 10-6 mark at No.2.

Verma recorded a team-high 14 (14-7) wins in singles, including ending the season on a five-match winning streak and winning 7 out of her last 8. Posted a 7-4 singles record in ACC play and won her lone nationally ranked matchup. She partnered with Andrea Di Palma for a 9-8 mark as the top doubles pair for Louisville, including ranked wins over Wichita State and Boston College.
