Cards Win Twice in Final Day at Purdue Invitational

UofL downs Butler and Purdue
The University of Louisville women's tennis team ended play at the Purdue Invitational with a 5-1 win over Butler in singles  and a 2-1 win over Purdue in doubles.
Against Butler in singles, the Cardinals had a battle on their hands, with three of the matches going three sets. Rhea Verma rolled 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 over Natalie Boesing. Teammate Chelsea Sawyer beat Delaney Schruhamer 6-3. 6-2. Sasha Gorchanyuk survived a tiebreaker in the first set to win 7-6, 6-4. Freshman Tyra Richardson took the first and third sets for her win. Joy Callwood followed suit at No. 6 with a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 win.Â
In doubles versus Purdue, Verma and Di Palma make quick work of Tara Milic and Juana Larranaga, winning 6-1. Chelsea Sawyer and Dina Chaika won 6-4 at the No. 2 slot.Â
