The catcher was recognized by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville sophomore Henry Davis earned his second All-America nod of the year as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its All-America teams on Wednesday.
Davis was previously recognized by Collegiate Baseball in addition to being a finalist for the Buster Posey Award and a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award.
The Bedford, N.Y., native was one of the best catchers in the country in 2021, making his impact felt in the batter's box and behind the plate.
Davis led the Cardinals with a .370 batting average to go along with career-best totals in home runs (15) and RBIs (48). The sophomore led the ACC in on-base percentage and ranked in the top 10 in the league in batting average, hits, home runs, RBIs, total bases and slugging percentage.
Behind the plate, Davis threw out better than 46 percent of potential base stealers.
Davis is the 32nd player in Louisville history to be named an All-American and the 44th overall All-America selection for the program. During Dan McDonnell's 15 seasons, the Cardinals have had 40 All-America selections.
