Cardinals to Open ACC Tournament Against Boston College

Louisville plays at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team will face Boston College at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning in the first round of the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championships.
North Carolina earned the top seed for the tournament, which will be contested at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

The Tar Heels see their first tournament action on Friday at 9 a.m., when they will take on the winner of Thursday's second-round match between No. 8 Wake Forest and No. 9 Syracuse.

Wednesday's two first-round matches will pit No. 12 Louisville against No. 13 Boston College at 9 a.m. and No. 11 Clemson versus No. 14 Virginia Tech at 11:30 a.m.

The No. 8 Wake Forest/No. 9 Syracuse match begins second-round play on Thursday at 9 a.m. No. 5 Duke will play the winner of Wednesday's Louisville/Boston College match in the other Thursday 9 a.m. match. Thursday's last two matches will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will feature No. 7 Miami squaring off with No. 10 Notre Dame, and No. 6 Georgia Tech facing the winner of the Clemson/Virginia Tech match.

Teams receiving double-byes to Friday's quarterfinal round along with North Carolina include No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 NC State and No. 4 Virginia.

Action in the 2021 ACC Women's Tennis Championship will continue with a pair of 10 a.m. semifinal matches on Saturday and will conclude with Sunday's 10 a.m. championship match.

The championship match will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra, with Sam Gore handling play-by-play and Jill Craybas serving as analyst.
