Pedro Fonseca, Elijah Amo and Aboubacar Camara were all recognized on Wednesday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Three University of Louisville men's soccer student-athletes were recognized on Wednesday as the Atlantic Coast Conference released its All-Conference teams.
Pedro Fonseca was a second team selection, while Elijah Amo earned third team honors and Aboubacar Camara was named to the All-Freshman team. Camara is the first Louisville player to earn All-Freshman honors since Tate Schmitt in 2015.
The team's leader in assists, Fonseca has started all 14 matches for the Cardinals this season. The junior owns four goals and four assists for 12 points, all of which are career highs. Fonseca was Louisville's top goal scorer during the fall portion of the season, scoring in three of the first four matches. He converted a penalty kick for the game-winning goal in a three-point night against Notre Dame in October, and added another three-point tally in the 3-0 victory at NC State to open the spring.
Like Fonseca, Amo has done it all for the Cardinals as well. Starting in 12 matches, the senior has three goals and three assists for nine points, also all career highs. Amo tallied all three of his goals for the season during the fall, with all three of his assists coming in the spring season. Amo adds an All-Conference selection to a big year that saw his selected 34th overall by Real Salt Lake in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft in January.
It was a slow start to the season for Camara, who had just one goal and an assist during the fall. However, no one in the ACC has been better this spring than the freshman forward, as he leads the league with five goals in Louisville's six matches. Camara owns three game-winning goals this spring, finding the net in wins over NC State and Syracuse, and then again in Friday's 2-1 upset win over No. 3 Clemson.
The Cardinals finished the regular season at 5-8-1 overall, but posted a 4-2-0 mark during the spring season and finished second in the ACC Atlantic Division.
