March 26, 2021 | Women's Golf
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Hartlage shot a 1-under-par to pace the University of Louisville women's golf team into a tie for seventh place after 27 holes at the Clemson Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinals were slated to compete in only 18 holes on Friday, but tournament officials decided to play 27 holes because of rain headed to the Clemson area over the weekend. The field will conclude on Saturday with another 27 holes.
The Cardinals enter the final day in a four-way tie for seventh place with Virginia, Old Dominion and Augusta all at 17-over par. UofL shot an opening round of 14-over-par (301), but played much better during the afternoon session, finishing at 3-over. Kent State is the leader after 27 holes with Maryland second and Clemson third.
Hartlage ended the day in a tie for sixth place after shooting an opening round of 71, recording three birdies over the first 18 holes. She shot a 2-under-par on the front after registering birdies on three consecutive holes. The senior was even during the first nine holes of the afternoon round.
Margot Bechadergue is tied for 11th after shooting a 1-over-par for the 27 holes. She opened play with a 2-over 74 and was at 1-under-par over her first nine holes during the afternoon round. Agustina Gomez-Cisterna is tied for 61st after shooting a 78 and was 2-over during the next nine holes.
Hana Ryskova is tied for 69th and Carly Haines rounds out the top five in a tie for 89th place.
