Davis, Kirian Named NCBWA Preseason All-Americans

The duo were both selected to the NCBWA First Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With the season on the horizon, the University of Louisville baseball program collected two more preseason All-America selections on Wednesday.
Catcher Henry Davis and left-handed pitcher Michael Kirian were selected to the NCBWA Preseason All-America first team. Davis has been a preseason All-America selection by all five of the major services this spring, while Kirian adds the NCBWA honor to previous Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game selections.
Davis hit .372 during the shortened 2020 season, tying for the team lead with three home runs, and leading the Cardinals in slugging percentage (.698) and OPS (1.179).
Kirian was lights out in 2020, saving all six games he appeared in and allowing just three baserunners in his 6.1 innings. Since the start of the 2019 season, Kirian has a 1.41 ERA in 38.1 innings with 53 strikeouts and just 10 walks.
The Cardinals are scheduled to open up the season on Friday against Bellarmine at Jim Patterson Stadium.
