Cardinals Record Seven Wins on Day 2 of Cardinal Classic

Cards played doubles versus Middle Tennessee and DePaul and singles versus Ball State

LOUISVILLE, Ky— The University of Louisville women's tennis team picked up five doubles wins and two singles wins on the second day of competition at the Cardinal Classic held Saturday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The Classic is held in a hidden dual match format.

The Cardinals opened the morning with three doubles wins over DePaul including the combination of Andrea Di Palma and Rhea Verma defeating Yuliya Kizelbasheva and Kaya Rand 6-1.

In the doubles match against Middle Tennessee, the pairing of Di Palma and Verma had a strong showing, beating Noelle Mauro and Lee Barnard 6-0.

In singles against Ball State, the Cardinals recorded two impressive single victories but dropped the other four singles matches. Di Palma continued her impressive play with a 6-1,6-1 victory over Emma Peeler. Chelsea Sawyer dropped her first set but rallied to defeat Mariya Polishchuk 7-6, 10-5.
