The Cardinals recorded their 19th consecutive semester with at least a 3.0 team GPA.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program continued its run of excellence in the classroom during the fall semester of 2020.
The Cardinals closed out the fall with a 3.41 cumulative team grade point average, a new fall semester record for the program. It also marks the 19th consecutive semester with a team GPA of 3.0 or better.
Twenty student-athletes turned in a 3.5 GPA or better during the fall with Lucas Dunn, Tate Kuehner and Cameron Masterman recording 4.0 semesters.
In the program's internal academic competition, Team Mundorf took home the title with a 3.494 GPA. Team Mundorf consisted of Glenn Albanese, Alex Binelas, Cooper Bowman, Michael Kirian, J.R. Langworthy, Trey Leonard, Carter Lohman, Dalton Rushing, Garrett Schmeltz, Luke Smith, Wyatt Stevenson and Levi Usher.
The Louisville baseball program also had three former student-athletes receive their degrees following the fall semester. Tyler Fitzgerald (2017-19), Kyle McGrath (2013-14) and Josh Rogers (2014-15) all completed their undergraduate degrees.
The span of 19 straight semesters with a team GPA of 3.0 or better coincides with unparalleled success on the field for Louisville, which has four College World Series appearances, six NCAA Super Regional berths, eight NCAA Regional bids and seven conference championships during that time.
