Cardinals Host Indiana on Thursday Night at Lynn Stadium

Cardinals face the Hoosiers at 7:30 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Louisville women's soccer team will host Indiana on Thursday night in Lynn Stadium. The Cardinals enter the match with an overall record of 4-0 after two shutouts against Saint Louis and Eastern Michigan last week.

Junior midfielder Emina Ekic leads the Cardinals with six points off two goals and two assists. Senior Brooklynn Rivers and sophomore Maisie Whitsett have tallied two goals each this season for four points. Junior keeper Gabby Kouzelos has a 4-0 record in goal with three shutouts. She owns a 0.29 goals against average to start the season. Â

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 20th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to five NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.

SCOUTING INDIANA
Indiana enters the match with a 1-2-0 overall record. The Hoosiers lost a heartbreaker in the final minutes to Murray State, 2-1, on Sunday.Â

Chandra Davison and Jaimie Tottleben lead the Hoosiers in scoring with one goal each. Hanna Nemeth and Melanie Forbes each have one assist. In goal, Bethany Kopel owns a 1.67 goals against average. She has 10 saves and one shutout on the year. Â

Indiana head coach Erwin van Bennekom is in his first season at the helm. He was named the fourth coach in Indiana Women's Soccer history after spending the last four seasons at Duke as associate head coach.

The Hoosiers lead the all-time series against Louisville, 4-1-1. The teams last played in 2017 as the Cardinals came away with a 2-0 win in Bloomington. The last meeting in Louisville resulted in a 2-1 Indiana victory in 1997.
