No. 22 Cardinals Travel to Syracuse and Boston College This Week

Louisville will play two ACC road games this week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 22 Louisville women's soccer team will play two ACC road games this week. The Cardinals will travel to Syracuse on Thursday night to face the Orange at 6:00 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. Louisville will then travel to Boston College for a noon match at the Newton Campus Soccer field. Both matches will be televised on ACC Network Extra.Â

Emina Ekic leads the Cardinals in scoring with four goals and four assists for 12 points. Brooklynn Rivers and Maisie Whitsett rank second on the team in scoring with three goals each. Junior keeper Gabby Kouzelos leads the team in goal with a 0.61 goals against average.  She owns a 7-1 record along with five shutouts.Â

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 20th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to five NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.

SCOUTING SYRACUSE
Syracuse enters the match with an overall record of 2-4-1. The Orange opened conference play with a 1-1 tie against Pitt on Friday. Senior Taylor Bennett buried a penalty kick in the 63rd minute to tie the game while goalie Lysianne Proulx made four saves in overtime to keep the score tied until the final whistle.

Taylor Bennett leads the Orange in scoring with two goals for four points. Three other players have scored one goal for Syrcaue. Proulx has played in goal in every contest this year for the Orange. She owns an 0.83 goals against average and has collected 40 saves on the season with a 2-4-1 record.Â

Head coach Nicky Adams is in her first season with the Orange. She came to Syracuse after spending 12 seasons at the associated head coach at Rice University. Â

Boston College opens the weekend with an overall record of 7-1. The Eagles fell to No. 6 Florida State on Thursday night 5-4, earning their first loss of the season. Boston College will host Miami on Thursday night before hosting the Cards on Sunday.Â

Sam Smith leads the Eagles in scoring with seven goals and one assist for 15 points. Olivia Vaughn is second on the team in scoring with four goals and two assists for 10 points. Allie Augur has started every match for the Eagles in goal. She owns an 1.04 goals against average and has collected 26 saves.

Jason Lowe is in his first season with the Eagles. He came to Boston College after serving on the coaching staff at Wake Forest since 2014, including 2017 and 2018 as associate head coach.
