Hartlage Leads Cards After Day One in Tennessee

The Cardinals carded a team score of 303, as Hartlage finished with a 75
FRANKLIN, Tenn. - After the first day of the Mason Rudolph Championship, the University of Louisville women's golf team sits in 14th place with a team score of 303.
The event is being hosted by Vanderbilt at the par-72, 6,460-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club - North Course. The host Commodores are tied with Houston for the lead after the first round with a 1-under-par 287. Abbey Carlson of Vanderbilt and Elizabeth Moon from UCF are tied for the individual lead at 4-under-par 68.
The Cardinals enter day two one shot back of 13th place Middle Tennessee and three back of 11th place Northwestern. The Cards sit three shots up on Florida Atlantic. As a team, UofL leads the tournament with 61 pars during the first 18 holes.
Lauren Hartlage led Louisville for the round with a 3-over-par 75 and is tied for 42nd place. She carded a birdie on the par-5, 477-yard No. 4 and finished with 13 pars overall.
Three Cardinals sit one shot back of Hartlage in a tie for 51st overall. Lauren Thibodeau, Mairead Martin, and Hana Ryskova all finished with a 76 during the opening round. Thibodeau carded 15 pars on the day, tied for the second most by any golfer. Ryskova had a pair of birdies in the round on Nos. 5 and 12. Martin recorded a pair of birdies on the back nine, coming on Nos. 11 and 15. She was one of only four golfers on the day to earn a birdie on the par-4, 403-yard No. 15.
Delaney Shah rounded out the scoring for the Cards, finishing the day with a 77 and tying for 63rd. Shah started her round on a high note, earning a birdie on No. 2, a par-4 324-yard hole.
The second round of the Mason Rudolph Championship begins tomorrow, Sept. 21 at 8:30 a.m. CT.
