The tournament was the first for the Cardinals under head coach Whitney Young who took over the program in July. "I'm very proud of how the team fought until the very end today," Young said. "We had the lowest team round of the day and that's something to take with us going forward. Unfortunately, we gave away too many shots in the first round, but there are still many positives to take away from our first event. Having three players finish in the top-10 is pretty special as well."
Four Cardinals finished their final round under par, catapulting the Cards into a tie for third place with Virginia Tech and San Jose State. UofL finished six shots better than ACC rival Miami and 12 better than Notre Dame.Â
