Cardinals Ranked 20th in United Soccer Coaches Poll

Louisville moves back into the top-25 after receiving votes last week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Louisville men's soccer team moved back into the United Soccer Coaches poll that was announced Tuesday (Sept. 10), coming in at No. 20. The poll was conducted for games through September 8.

The Cardinals last week received votes and then went 2-0. UofL began the week by knocking off then No. 9 Kentucky 3-0 inside Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium. The Cards wrapped up the week with a 3-0 win at FAU.

Four different Cardinals scored in the pair of games, with Louka Masset and Cherif Dieye accounting for two goals apiece.

Goalkeeper Jake Gelnovatch was named the ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his role in the pair of shutouts.

In all, eight UofL opponents are ranked this week in the USC poll, with two more opponents receiving votes.

In other polls, the Cardinals enter the week ranked 5th by Top Drawer Soccer and 12th by College Soccer News.

Louisville returns to action when it opens ACC play at Syracuse Friday, Sept. 13, at 7:00 p.m.
