
Louisville Wraps Regular Season at No. 1 Boston College

The Cardinals and Eagles will square off at noon on Saturday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse wraps up the regular season this weekend with a matchup against No. 1 Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Last time out, the Cardinals (5-11, 0-6 ACC) fell to then-No. 7 Virginia 16-12, despite a hard-fought rally to pull within two goals in the second half. Sophomore Sarah Blalock led the Cards with a career-high four goals and six draw controls.

Tessa Chad leads the Cards' attack with 55 goals and six assists for 61 points on the season. The senior also ranks fifth in the ACC in goals per game, averaging 3.44 each contest.

Sophomore Ally Hall has also been a strong presence on offense, netting 25 goals and 11 assists for 36 points.

In goal, Rachel Florek has recorded 104 saves with a save percentage of .400. The redshirt sophomore has also collected a team-high 35 ground balls.

As a team, the Cardinals have turned the ball over less than their opponent in nine of 16 games. Against the Cavaliers, Louisville forced nine of Virginia's 14 turnovers.

Boston College (16-0) enters Friday's matchup as the top-ranked team in the nation with 10 wins against ranked opponents this season. The Eagles are averaging 17.5 goals per game with an average margin of victory of 7.5 goals.

Senior attacker Sam Apuzzo leads the Eagles' offense with 70 goals and 24 assists for 94 points on the season. Fellow attacker Kenzie Kent follows just behind with 35 goals and a team-high 57 assists for 92 points.

Apuzzo also leads Boston College in ground balls (26), caused turnovers (21) and draw controls (114).

In goal, sophomore Abbey Ngai has started 12 contests for the Eagles and has tallied 122 saves with a save percentage of .506.
