Louisville Women’s Golf Sixth After Two Rounds at ACC Championship

The Cardinals were 15-over par through 36 holes on Thursday in the conference championship.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Led by 1-over par performances from Lauren Hartlage and Margot Bechadergue, the University of Louisville women' golf team finished the first day of the ACC Championship in sixth place at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
The Cardinals finished two rounds at 15-over par for a team score of 591.
Wake Forest leads the tournament at 9-under par with a team score of 567 through the first two rounds. Florida State (577) is eight shots back in second place followed by Virginia (580), Duke (581) and Virginia Tech (588).
Hartlage shot 2-over par-74 in the first round and 1-under 71 in the second round to finish the day tied for 10th place at 1-over par. She tallied eight birdies on the day, six of them coming on the back nine.
Bechadergue opened with an even par 72 first round with four birdies, followed by a 1-over par 73 to end the day also tied for 10th place at 1-over par.
Mairead Martin sits tied for 28th at the end of the first day. The freshman shot 1-over 73 in the first round and 4-over 76 in the second round with an eagle on the 10th hole of the afternoon round.
Olivia Cason shot 3-over 75 to open the tournament and 6-over 78 to end the day in 43rd place at 9-over par.
Delaney Shah opened with an 8-over 80 opening round but knocked three strokes off in the next round to finish at 5-over 77 and sit in 53rd place after the first day.
The Cardinals will play the final round of the ACC Championship on Saturday, teeing off hole number one beginning at 8:30 a.m.
