Cardinals Draw Kennesaw State on Final Day in Athens

Louisville and Kennesaw State finished all even at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In its final match of the weekend, the Louisville women's golf team closed out the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic with a draw against Kennesaw State on Saturday. The three-day event was played at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens.
The Cardinals saw the match end in a tie for the second straight day, finishing all even at 2.5 apiece. Overall, Louisville went 0-1-2 in its three matches with draws against KSU and No. 11 Florida and a 3-2 loss to No. 6 Arkansas.
Olivia Cason scored her second win of the week despite falling behind early. Cason was 2-down just six holes into the match, but rallied back to pick up a 2-and-1 victory.
Lauren Hartlage was also victorious on Saturday, winning 2-up. In a match that saw the lead change hands four times, Hartlage won three of the final six holes to capture a second point for the Cardinals.
Margot Bechadergue added a half point for Louisville with her match finishing all square. Bechadergue held a 2-up advantage with two holes to play, but her opponent birdied the final two holes to halve the match.
Delaney Shah lost her match 2-down and Mairead Martin took a 2-and-1 defeat.
Louisville will now prepare for the ACC Championship, set to begin on Thursday. The championship will be played at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
