Spring Match brings great crowd to Cardinal Arena
The University of Louisville volleyball team fell 3-2 to visiting Kentucky in a spring match at Friday evening at Cardinal Arena.Â
The Wildcats won 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 15-8 in front of a large crowd in Cardinal Arena. Â
Both teams could possibly meet again as they both travel on April 6 for the annual KIVA Tournament held in Louisville, Kentucky.Â
The Cardinals, who went 22-9 overall and 11-3 in the ACC, made their 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament season in 2018. Louisville led by ACC Setter of the Year Wilma Rivera and 2017 Defensive Player of the Year.  Louisville will be led by returning AVCA All-East Region and First Team All ACC Melanie McHenry along with returning starters Piper Roe, Emily Scott, Marijke Van Dyke and Mia Stander. Redshirt freshman Aiko Jones and transfer setter Tori Dilfer will help fill gaps left by departing seniors as the Cards await the arrival of their recruiting class this summer. Â
