Cardinals Beat Marshall 5-2

Cards move to 8-0
The University of Louisville women's tennis team took the doubles point and four singles matches to beat Marshall 5-2 in Huntington, W.V. on Friday evening.

UofL's No. 1 pair of Raven Neely and Nikolina Jovic beat Liz Stefancic and Matilde Mulatero 6-3 and then Chloe Hamlin and Aleksandra Mally defeated Madi Ballow and Victoria Walter 6-2 at No. 3 to clinch the point.

The Cards carried their momentum into singles when they took the first point at No. 5 when Chloe Hamlin handled Madi Ballow 6-3, 6-2.  Marshall put a point on the board when Sena Suswam fell 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. Louisville made it 3-1 when Aleksandra Mally took down Victoria Walter at No. 1 6-2, 6-3. After dropping the match at No. 2, No. 114-ranked Nikolina Jovic clinched the match with a three set win over Liz Stefancic 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Diana Wong's 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 rounded out Louisville scoring.Â

The Cardinals return home to open the ACC slate on Sunday versus Pittsburgh at noon.
