The Cardinals open their home schedule next Saturday against Mercer.
DENVER, Colo. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse concluded its three-game road trip to open the season with an 18-2 defeat at No. 19 Denver on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Cardinals move to 0-3, while the Pioneers improve the 3-0.
Louisville struggled in snowy conditions throughout and trailed 11-0 at halftime.Â
Caroline Blalock got the Cardinals on the board with 24:54 to go in the game and then assisted on a goal by Sarah Blalock with 6:43 remaining.
But, Louisville was unable to mount a rally as they have in the previous two games and fell 18-2.
After opening the season with the first three games away from the Derby City, Louisville returns home for their next two. They open the home schedule against Mercer on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET and then host Vanderbilt on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. ET.
