No. 14 Louisville Hosts No. 9 Duke on Friday in Lynn Stadium

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 14 Louisville women's soccer team hosts No. 9 Duke on Friday night as part of a double header with the men. The Cardinals were unbeaten last week after defeating then ranked No. 9 Clemson 1-0 at Lynn Stadium and then battling Notre Dame to a scoreless draw on Sunday for a 4-1-1 record in ACC play. Â

Emina Ekic leads the Cardinals on the season with seven goals and six assists for 20 points. Snyder ranks second on the team with four goals and one assist for nine points.   Junior keeper Gabby Kouzelos leads the team in goal with a 0.49 goals against average.  She owns a 11-1-1 record along with seven shutouts.Â

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes is in her 20th season with the Cardinals. She has led Louisville to five NCAA tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011.

SCOUTING DUKE
Duke enters the match with an overall record of 7-1-5 on the year and 2-1-4 in ACC play . Most notably, four of their five ties on the season have come in scoreless draws against Georgetown, Virginia, Virginia Tech and North Carolina. Duke's lone loss of the season comes in a non-conference matchup with ACC rival North Carolina.Â

Mackenzie Pluck leads the Blue Devils in scoring with seven goals and five assists for 19 points. Ella Stevens and Marykate McGuire both rank second on the team in scoring with 18 points each. Between the posts, Brooke Heinsohn owns a 0.61 goals against average along with 46 saves and five shutouts.  Â

Robbie Church is in his 19th season with the Blue Devils. He has guided Duke to three NCAA College Cup appearances and capturing a pair of ACC championships over his 18 seasons at the helm.

Duke leads the series 2-0-4 against the Cardinals. The series began with four straight ties and five of the six meetings were double overtime. Duke defeated the Cardinals 2-1 last year in Durham. In 2017 at Lynn Stadium, the Blue Devils defeated the Cards 2-1 in double overtime.Louisville is 1-0-1 against Duke in Louisville.  Â

Rose Lavelle, a member of the U.S. Women's National Team, will make an appearance at the match.Â
The 2019 World Cup Champion will participate in a fan Q&A at halftime. Fans are encouraged to submit their questions this week through the Louisville Women's Soccer team's Twitter and Facebook accounts @ULWomensSoccer.
Lavelle will sign autographs between the women's and men's matches. Autographs will be limited to one item per person. Soccer balls, apparel, and photos will be permitted in the stadium to be signed. Additional items are at the discretion of stadium security.

Fans who arrive early will be entered into a drawing to win a US Women's National Team jersey signed by Lavelle.
