Louisville makes it a doubleheader sweep

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team completed a doubleheader sweep with a 7-0 victory over Northern Kentucky University Friday evening at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. In a quick match, the Cardinals (4-0) prevailed in all three doubles matches against the Norse (1-1) and posted straight-sets wins at all six singles flights.

In the doubles round, the top pair of Raven Neely and Sena Suswam were swift in victory with a 6-0 result, followed by the point-clinching 6-2 win by Dina Chaika and Nikolina Jovic at No. 2. At third-flight, Aleksandra Mally and Diana Wong were victorious in a 6-3 match.

Neely continued her dominance into the singles round, blanking Maria Koo, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 position. Chaika followed that up with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hannah Watton at No. 6, with Jovic wrapping up the match with a 6-2, 6-3 third-flight win over Taylor Culbertson. In the remaining matches, Wong tallied a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4, Chloe Hamlin won 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5, and Mally finished the night with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 1 position.

The Cardinals return to the court Sunday afternoon as they face Cincinnati at 3 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
