UofL wins doubles and singles

The University of Louisville women's tennis team took five of six singles matches and and two of three doubles matches in day two of the Akron Shootout Saturday in Akron.

The Cardinals downed Cleveland State 5-1 in singles to start the morning. Aleksandra Mally beat Isabella Spindler 6-1, 6-1 and Nikolina Jovic swept Klara Mrcela 6-0, 6-0. Maya Smith won at No. 3 with a 6-1, 5-7 and 1-0 (4) over Sian Payne and Diana Wong won at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Lara Prosenjak 6-1, 6-4. Dina Chaika won at No. 4 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (6) to wrap up Cardinal scoring.

In doubles versus Akron, the team of Nikolina Jovic and Sena Suswam swept Anna Uljanov and Rita Pedroso 6-0 and Aleksandra Mally and Diana Wong combined forces to beat Akron's Sophia Geier and Holland Long 6-4.
