Claire Chaussee and Amanda Green lead White Team with 10 kills apiece

Melanie McHenry had 13 kills to lead the University of Louisville White team to a 25-20, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17 win over the Red Team at the Red/White Volleyball Scrimmage Saturday evening at Cardinal Arena.

The White team was led by Molly Sauer's 30 digs with Illinois transfer Marijke Van Dyke adding 12 kills and Piper Roe adding 10 kills and four blocks.

"We made a ton of service errors, but we served very well when it's in and over the net. Usually that's typical for Red and White, get some of the nerves out. The main goal is to give the new players a game-like feel, and had that tonight. Overall, we have a lot of depth still and that showed tonight," said Dani Busboom Kelly, UofL head coach.

The Red team was led by Amanda Green's 10 kills with Claire Chaussee adding 10 kills and 11 digs. Megan Sloan had eight kills and four blocks with Kelly O'Neil adding 20 digs.
"Kelly O'Neil has been a huge bright spot. First of all, she's local, so that's fun. She digs and passes great, so it's been fun to have her. All the freshmen, including Claire Chaussee, have done well. Emily Scott didn't get much action tonight, but she had a great preseason. They're just adding to the depth," said Busboom Kelly

The Cardinals open their regular season next weekend when UofL hosts the Cardinal Classic. UofL will open with Tennessee Martin Aug. 24 at 12:30 and then play Southern Illinois in the nightcap at 7:30. All matches are at Cardinal Arena.
