
Cards Fall Short in 3-1 Loss at No. 8/10 Florida State

Hensley collects her sixth homer of the season to give Louisville an early lead
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Junior Megan Hensley's home run gave the University of Louisville a 1-0 lead, but No 8/10 Florida State answered with a pair of homers to win 3-1 in the teams' series finale Monday night at FSU's JoAnn Graf Field.
Louisville (28-17, 7-10 ACC) will return to action at home this weekend with a three-game series against ACC opponent Boston College. Throughout the weekend, the Cardinals will honor seniors Jenna Jordan, Ashley Nikolao,Nicole Pufahl, Jamie Soles and Alison Szydlowski with a Senior Day ceremony taking place prior to Saturday's 1 p.m. game.
Hensley blasted a two-out solo shot over the fence in centerfield for her team-best sixth home run of the season to give the Cards an early lead in the top of the first.

The Seminoles 39-8, 16-2 ACC) countered in the home half of the third when Jessie Warren connected on a one-out solo home run to even the score at 1-1.

The fifth inning brought Florida State's second homer of the game. Zoe Casas drew a leadoff walk and Carsyn Gordon's two-run shot pushed the Seminoles ahead 3-1.

Hensley (12-7) took the loss, allowing three earned runs on five hits and striking out four in six innings of work.

Kylee Hanson (23-3) picked up the win after giving up one earned run and holding the Cards to one hit and striking six out in a complete game effort.
