Cason Leads Women’s Golf on First Day of ACC Championship

Junior Olivia Cason is tied for 12th after one round at the ACC Championship.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Olivia Cason shot a 1-over-par 73 on Saturday to pace the University of Louisville women's golf team through one round at the ACC Championship in Greensboro, N.C.
The junior is tied for 12th on a day that saw only 11 golfers shot even or below par. Cason is aiming for her second-consecutive top-10 finish at the event, tying for fourth at last year's conference championship.
Collectively, the Cardinals shot a 14-over-par 302 and sit ninth in a tightly packed team race. Louisville is six shots out of fourth place, while Duke is in first after tallying a 6-under-par 282.
The Cardinals return for the second round on Sunday, teeing off at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center East Course with Virginia and Notre Dame starting at 9:50 a.m. ET. Live coverage is being shown on ACC Network Extra from 2-4 p.m.
Molly Skapik and Delaney Shah, making her first collegiate postseason appearance, each produced a 4-over-par 76 and are tied for 30th. Shah is tied for the second-best par-3 average in the 60-player field.
Lauren Hartlage, No. 40 in Golfstat's latest ranking, is tied for 39th after registering a 5-over-par 77.
