
Fitzgerald, Wolf Named to College Baseball Foundation Awards Watch Lists

Fitzgerald on Brooks Wallace Award watch list; Wolf on National Pitcher of the Year watch list
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville infielder Tyler Fitzgerald and lefthander pitcher Adam Wolf were named Thursday to watch lists for a pair of 2018 College Baseball Foundation awards. Fitzgerald was on the watch list for this year's Brooks Wallace Award, which honors the nation's top shortstop, while Wolf was on the watch list for the 2018 National Pitcher of the Year.
A native of Rochester, Illinois, Fitzgerald was among 53 players named to the season's first watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award, named for former the Texas Tech shortstop, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Fitzgerald has played in all 36 games this season for the No. 20 Cardinals, including 35 starts at shortstop, accumulating a .280 batting average, nine doubles, two home runs, 18 RBIs and 15 stolen bases in 16 attempts. He enters this weekend's series against Virginia riding a career-best nine-game hitting streak.
Named among 78 players on the Pitcher of the Year watch list, Wolf has anchored Louisville's pitching staff in 2018 as the native of Milan, Ohio has a 4-2 record, 2.36 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 53.1 innings and nine series-opening starts. Wolf has allowed two or fewer earned runs in seven of his nine starts this season. During his three seasons at Louisville, Wolf has a 10-2 career record and a 2.17 ERA in 107.2 innings pitched.
The Brooks Wallace Award and the National Pitcher of the Year Award by the College Baseball Foundation following the season.
