Hartlage Tied for Second, Leads Women’s Golf at Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

Lauren Hartlage shot a 6-under-par 66 in the opening round.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Hartlage made her first career hole in one during the Cardinals' practice round on Thursday. It was only fitting that she opened the tournament with one of her best career marks.
The Elizabethtown, Ky., native had a birdie on seven holes and earned an eagle on No. 17, a par-4, 357-yard hole during the first round. She finished the first 18 holes with a 6-under-par 66, the eighth round of her career in the 60s.
The sophomore is tied for second after shooting a two-round score of 5-under-par 139 on Friday at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga.
Molly Skapik finished the day tied for 13th, aided by a solid first round. The senior had five birdies during the opening 18 holes and capped the two rounds with a 1-over-par 145.
Collectively, the Cardinals are in seventh place after putting together a 15-over-par 591. Louisville is 11 strokes behind No. 5 Duke, which is in third. No. 2 Alabama sits in first with a 14-under-par 562.
Olivia Cason is tied for 30th, and Kristin Engle, who is tied for 57th, rounded out the Cardinals' top four scorers.
Louisville, paired with Kennesaw State and Ole Miss, returns to action for the final round at 8:35 a.m. ET.
