PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse fell to Brown University 17-10 on Wednesday afternoon at Stevenson-Pincince Field.

The Cardinals fall to 6-6 on the season, 6-3 in non-conference play.

The Cardinals took the early lead with Tessa Chad and Emily Howell scoring the first two goals of the game.

The Cardinals' only lead of the game did not last much longer as Brown proceeded to score the next four goals before having their run stopped by Madison Hoover's first of three goals in the first half.

After Julia Wood responded to Brown's next goal with one of her own, Hoover scored two in a row to keep the Cardinals within one at the half.

Lexie Ball recorded six saves in the first 30 minutes.

Brown opened the scoring in the second half, scoring two in a row before Caroline Blalock found the back of the net for her first goal of the game.

After Ally Hall and Lexi Cheetham traded goals with the Bears, Brown finished the game on a four-goal scoring streak over the final 12 minutes.

Alex McNicholas continued her strong performance of winning draw controls, this time recording six of the team's 10 draws.
