Lauren Hartlage fired a 3-under-par 69 to move to first after 36 holes.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lauren Hartlage fired a 3-under-par 69 on Tuesday, vaulting the Cardinals' golfer atop the leaderboard at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic after the second round of competition in Kapalua, Hawaii.
The University of Louisville sophomore compiled her seventh collegiate round in the 60s, helping her rise two spots in the standings to first. Hartlage went bogey free, while tallying three birdies on the day. Notably, it is her 16th round this season even or below par, one short of Cindy LaCrosse's school record that was set in 2008-09.
Kristin Engle and Molly Skapik also had remarkable rounds, each shooting a 2-under-par 70.
The three scores helped Louisville reduce Hawaii's team lead, as the Cardinals remained in second. Louisville shot a 3-under-par 285 and owns a two-day score 5-over-par 581, two strokes behind the tournament host.
Engle, with her fourth round even or below par, jumped to fourth on the leaderboard. The freshman recorded four birdies, including three on the last nine holes. She leads the 69-golfer field in par-4 average, with a 3.81.
Skapik, who is tied for 13th, stands at 4-over-par 148. Her second-round showing allowed her to make the biggest climb of the day, moving up 26 spots.
Olivia Cason, who has a two-round total of 6-over-par 150, is tied for 23rd.
Louisville is paired with Hawaii, Oregon State, and Santa Clara for the final round of play, with teams teeing off Wednesday starting at 2:45 p.m. ET.
