
Women’s Golf Captures Anuenue Spring Break Classic, Hartlage Runner-Up

Louisville defeated Hawaii in a tiebreaker for the team title.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team captured its third team title this season, defeating Hawaii in a tiebreaker on Wednesday for the Anuenue Spring Break Classic championship in Kapalua, Hawaii.
The Cardinals shot a 10-over-par 298 in the final round at the Kapalua Golf Club Bay Course, completing a comeback that saw Louisville cut Hawaii's advantage to two strokes on Tuesday. Louisville, which owned the best par-4 average in the 13-team field at 4.14, capped the tournament at 15-over-par 879.
Individually, Lauren Hartlage narrowly missed her second crown this year, taking runner-up honors. The sophomore, who recorded par on 40 of the 54 holes, shot a 3-over-par 75 on the final day. The Elizabethtown, Ky., native compiled a three-day score of 1-under-par 215, her fourth tournament this year even or below par.
Kristin Engle earned the best finish of her freshman season, tying for sixth. She contributed all three of her rounds, totaling a season-tying best 4-over-par 220. Engle, who scored a 5-over-par 77 in the final round, logged the best par-4 average in the 69-player field with a 3.92.
Olivia Cason climbed five spots on the leaderboard for her third top-20 finish this season. The junior shot a 2-over-par 74, giving her an 8-over-par 224 to tie for 18th.
Jacqueline Twitty put together the team's best third-round performance, carding an even-par 72. She tied for 38th, with a 12-over-par 228.
Molly Skapik had a team-best 10 birdies to pace the Cardinals, who strung together a field-leading 41 birdies. Skapik tied for 32nd in the tournament.
Louisville finishes the regular season in two weeks, when it travels to the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, hosted by assistant coach Whitney Young's alma mater Georgia. The Cardinals play from April 13-15 in Athens, Ga.
