Mann finishes 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored; Hoeing twirls 3.0 scoreless innings in relief

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - No.10 Clemson used a pair of two-out, two-run singles in the fourth inning to earn a 4-3 victory over the No.11 Louisville baseball team in game one of Sunday's doubleheader at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Chris Williams had the first two-run single while Kyle Wilkie added the second as the Tigers (18-5, 5-3) clinched their first ACC series win against the Cardinals (17-6, 3-5 ACC). After cutting the deficit to just one run after the sixth inning, Louisville was unable to find the tying run and closed the game with 14 runners left on base.

Clemson started the scoring in Sunday's first game with the four-run fifth inning. After the Tigers loaded the bases to begin the inning, Williams delivered a two-out, two-run single up the middle to plate Jordan Greene and Bryce Teodosio. Wharton added his two-run single to left field to score Logan Davidson and Williams for the 4-0 lead.

The Cardinals cut the margin in half with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. After reaching base with a single to left field, junior Devin Mann scored on a RBI double down the left field line by sophomore Logan Wyatt. Later in the inning, Wyatt scored the second run on sophomore Drew Campbell's RBI groundout. Louisville pulled closer with a run in the sixth inning after Wyatt earned a two-out bases loaded walk to send sophomore Justin Lavey home.

On the mound, junior righthander Bryan Hoeing had two strikeouts and allowed just one hit in 3.0 innings of scoreless relief. At the plate, Mann was 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored, while Wyatt was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, two walks and one run scored.
