Men's Swimming Set for the ACC Championship

Cards head to Greensboro for four days of racing
The No. 14 University of Louisville men's swimming and diving team is set to begin the 2018 Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, February 21 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Competition kicks off on Wednesday slated to begin at 4:15 p.m. ET and will continue through Saturday, February 24.

The No. 3 ranked Wolfpack of NC State are the top-ranked ACC squad in the latest TYR / CSCAA poll, while Louisville is No. 14, FSU is No. 19, Notre Dame is No. 20, Virginia is No. 21 and Georgia Tech is No. 25 in a power-packed league of swimming.

The Cardinals, the 2017 ACC runnersup, are seeking their first-ever ACC team championship. UofL is led by returning champion Marcelo Acosta, silver medallist Zach Harting and 2-time bronze medallist Carlos Claverie. UofL is ranked in the top 25 in the nation in seven events and all five relays. Andrej Barna is No. 21 in the 50 free. Marcelo Acosta is No. 13 in the 500 and No. 5 in the 1650. Carlos Claverie is second in the 200 breast and 10th in the 100 breast. Nick Albiero is No. 25 in the 200 fly and Etay Gurevich is No. 24 in the 400 IM.

With the exception of Wednesday, prelims will begin at 10 a.m. ET each morning, followed by finals at 6 p.m. ET. A live video stream of finals will be available on ACC Network Extra and WatchESPN on Thursday through Saturday at 6 p.m.
