LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Head coach Ken Lolla and the University of Louisville's men's soccer program have released details for their upcoming summer camps.
A detailed overview of the camps is as follows:
"Our camps provide an opportunity for personal growth both on the soccer field and in the game of life," said Lolla. "Our mission is to pass on principles of success and help others reach their potential. Our promise is to invest in each participant as if they were a member of the UofL soccer program and the Cardinal Family."
SUMMER YOUTH SKILLS CAMP
The Youth Skills Camp is designed for boys ages 6-13, to develop fundamental techniques of soccer in a fun and positive learning environment. The camp is coached by players and staff of the University of Louisville men's soccer team. Campers will have the opportunity to develop a relationship with their coaches and interact directly with the team.
Skill Development is a major focus of the curriculum, teaching the proper techniques of the game in small groups according to age and ability. Â Campers learn the basic principles of soccer in stations and then apply the skills in small sided games. The camp will be hosted at the state-of-the-art Lynn Stadium and Cardinal Park, allowing campers to play at one of the premier soccer stadiums in NCAA athletics.Â
A highlight of camp is the 3 vs 3 tournament in a bracketed, round robin style format. Â The 3v3 tournament provides campers the opportunity to showcase the skills they learned at camp and compete in a fun filled atmosphere. The tournament's final match is be played at Lynn Stadium in front of the full camp and streamed on the video board.
In addition to skill development, campers hear Coach Lolla's philosophy on youth development based on his book "Passing It On: A Coaching Philosophy for Youth Soccer." The camp also features Principles of the Day, which are taught each morning at the beginning of camp and feature the CARDS values of Caring, Attitude, Respect, Discipline and Service.
To teach campers the value of serving others and their community, the camp hosts a week long canned food drive to help those in need within the community. Each camp strives to collect 500 cans to feed the needy, and all donations go to the Lord's Kitchen Organization.

SUMMER ID AND HIGH SCHOOL TEAM CAMPS

The camps are designed for athletes with the ambition to play at the collegiate level and learn more about the recruiting process. Each camp provides a highly competitive player pool and training environment. Players will experience technical and tactical field sessions, as well as classroom seminars on mental toughness, personal development, and principles of success.Â
The staff consists of coaches from the University of Louisville as well as a select group of colleges from across the country in Division I, II, III, and NAIA. Â Located on the University of Louisville campus, players have the opportunity to tour the campus and compete in state-of-the-art facilities such as Lynn Stadium and Cardinal Park.
Coach Ken Lolla teaches principals of success and life skills to campers throughout the week with an emphasis on personal development. Daily seminars feature topics such as leadership, mental toughness and how to be a great teammate. On the last night, campers are taught the power of goal setting and provided the opportunity to identify and write down their goals both on and off the field for the upcoming season.
