Women's Lacrosse Welcomes in Marquette for Home Opener on Sunday
February 10, 2018 | Women's Lacrosse
The Cardinals and Golden Eagles will begin play at 1 p.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse welcomes in Marquette on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET for their 2018 home opener.
The Cardinals opened the Scott Teeter era with a 15-9 win at Cincinnati on Friday. Ten different players scored goals for the Cards as they were led by Tessa Chad's four goals and two assists. Jillian Balog and Sarah Blalock recorded two goals and one assist each.
"If you are a balanced team, it makes you tough to play against and tough to scout," said Teeter. "We still need those go-to players to step up and score three or four goals a game."
Lexie Ball finished with seven saves in her first career start.
"Lexie played well, she made the saves I thought she should make. There weren't too many that I thought she'd like to have back and she stole a couple, too," added Teeter.
The Cards look to start the season off at 2-0 for the fourth consecutive season.
