Claire Chaussee Named ACC Freshman of the Week

Freshman came off the bench to rack up 31 kills this weekend
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville's Claire Chaussee has been named ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week. Florida State's Payton Caffrey has been selected as the ACC Volleyball Player of the Week.

Chaussee shined for Louisville over the weekend in matches against Miami and Florida State. The rookie outside hitter from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, tallied 31 kills on a .296 hitting percentage, eight digs and six total blocks on the weekend. In a 3-1 win over Miami, her first action since October, Chaussee recorded 16 kills on a .393 hitting percentage.
Caffrey had a stellar weekend in Florida State's wins over Notre Dame (3-1) and No. 24 Louisville (3-1). The junior outside hitter from Chuluota, Florida, racked up an incredible 52 kills across the two matches, averaging 6.50 per set. Caffrey also posted a hitting percentage of .410 and added 15 digs and three total blocks on the weekend.
