Cardinals Set to Host Louisville Classic

Cards will play host to Miami, Marquette, and WVU
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team concludes its fall exhibition season this weekend with the Louisville Tennis Classic on Friday, Nov. 2-Sunday Nov. 4 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The Cardinals will welcome Marquette, Miami (Ohio) and West Virginia for three days of competition.

On Friday, the Cards will open with two morning doubles rounds against Miami and West Virginia beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a singles round with Marquette at 1:30 p.m. Saturday's action will follow the same schedule, beginning with doubles against Marquette and Miami before concluding with singles versus West Virginia. The event will conclude on Sunday afternoon with a singles round against Miami at 1:30 p.m. For the first two days, the other schools will compete in doubles rounds at the same time as Louisville's, while the second afternoon singles rounds are set for 3:30 p.m.

Two of Louisville's opponents finished the 2017-18 slate with winning records as Miami went 12-9 and reached the MAC Tournament final, and Marquette reached the Big East semifinals at 12-10. West Virginia competed in last year's Louisville Classic and went on to post a 7-14 record in the Big 12. This weekend will mark the first of two meetings with Miami this season as the Cards will face the RedHawks in their season-opening doubleheader on Sunday, Jan. 20.
