Cards Lead After First Round of Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate

Lauren Hartlage holds lead with season-best 66
JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – Following strong performances from the starting five, the University of Louisville women's golf team is in first place after the first day of the Alexa Stirling Women's Intercollegiate Invitational.
The Cardinals finished the day at two-under after shooting 286. They lead second-place Virginia Tech by six strokes.
Lauren Hartlage heads into day two with the tournament lead after shooting a season-best six-under 66. She finished the day with eight birdies, including five on the back nine.
Virginia Tech's Keera Foocharoen finished day one with a two-under 70 and trails Hartlage by four strokes.
Delaney Shah is tied for fifth overall after shooting an even-par 72. Mairead Martin closed the opening round with a one-over 73 and is tied for eighth.
Olivia Cason tallied three birdies and shot three-over 75 and is tied for 17th, while Lauren Thibodeau finished with a four-over 76 and is tied for 24th.
Linda Trockel, Margot Bechadergue, and Meghan Nay competed as individuals. Trockel finished tied for 13th after shooting a two-over 74. Bechadergue wrapped up the first round tied for 48th, while Nay finished tied for 54th.
The Cardinals tee off for round two tomorrow starting at 8:30 a.m.
