Cards' Ola Mally advances to semi-finals

The Cardinals completed competition at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals at the Champions Club today.

In the Main Draw Singles bracket, Nikolina Jovic beat Emily Struble of Miami of Ohio 6-3, 6-1 and then beat Kate Popova of Lipscomb 6-4, 6-3 before falling to Kaitlin Staines of Tennessee 6-1, 6-1.

Teammate Sena Suswam beat Laylo Bakhodirova of East Tennessee 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 before falling to Emily Thomas of Xavier 6-3, 6-4.

Diana Wong fell to Vandy's Emily Scott 3-6, 6-0, 6-2.

Raven Neely beat Middle Tennessee's Lee Barnard 6-2, 7-5 but had to retire against Tennessee's Ari Riley 7-5, ret.

Aleksandra Mally beat Polina Goloputova of Chattanooga 6-3, 5-1 and then downed Sadie Hammond of Tennessee 6-3, 6-2. She advanced to beat Indiana's Natalie Whalen 6-2, 6-2 before falling to Vandy's Carolyn Campana 7-6 (10), 2-6, 6-3.

In the B-flight singles, Daina Chaika fell to Mariella Pessina of IUPUI 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles, Aleksandra Mally and Diana Wong fell to Emma Kurtz and Carolyn Campana 8-6. Sena Suswam and Raven Neely beat MTSU's Costanza Magazzini and Lee Barnard 8-6 before falling to Sadie Hammond and Gabby Schuck of Tennessee 8-4.
