LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â The No. 8 Louisville men's soccer team begins its grueling ACC slate with a top 10 showdown as No. 2 Wake Forest visits Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., ET. The match, which is the third against a nationally ranked opponent in the first five matches this season for the Cardinals, will be televised on ACC Network Extra, while live scoring is available at GoCards.com.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Louisville enters Saturday's match at 3-0-1 overall following Tuesday's 2-2 draw with No. 19 Kentucky. The Cardinals are off to their best start to a season since registering the same record through four matches in 2010, while a win against the Demon Deacons would equal the 4-0-1 mark by the 2010 team. Senior defender Tim Kubel had game-winning goals in each of the previous two wins for Louisville to go along with an assist in Tuesday's draw, while junior Adrien Cabon has two goals and an assist this season.
ABOUT THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest suffered its first loss of 2017 and dropped to 3-1-0 overall with Tuesday's 2-1 overtime defeat against Georgia State. Led by coach Bobby Muuss, the Demon Deacons were 19-3-3 last season and won the ACC Atlantic Division title with a 5-1-2 mark. After winning the ACC Tournament, Wake Forest advanced to the championship match of the College Cup before falling in penalty kicks to Stanford.

Tim Kubel was named as the ACC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 5, while  Clemson's Patrick Bunk-Andersen was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week. Kubel scored a pair of game-winning goals for the Cardinals, who remained unbeaten with two victories from Aug. 28-Sept. 1. Hailing from Stuttgart, Germany, Kubel started the week with the lone goal against No. 25 Butler connecting in the 39th minute on a sliding attempt from 18 yards away to lift Louisville to a 1-0 victory against the Bulldogs on Aug. 28. Four days later, the All-American delivered on a penalty kick in the 47th minute of the Cardinals' 1-0 triumph at Georgia State on Sept. 1. With his first two goals of the season, Kubel moved into ninth in career goals at Louisville with 17 while six of those are game-winners.
